AN EARLY OAK COURT CUPBOARD CIRCA 1670

A 17th century, and later carved oak court cupboard. With a rear arched and nulled gallery, reeded edge over a carved frieze flanked by relief carved dolphins, above a pair of foliate carved cupboard doors centered by a marquetry panel. All upon the base with a pair of inverted marquetry cupboard doors flanked by carved scroll corbels, raised upon stile feet with carved detail to the front feet.

A ‘Superb oak cupboard’, dated 1670 which belonged to the pastor Peter Venables, Baron of Kinderton, and given to Benjamin Vawdrey in 1857 as Steward on the estate of the sale by Lord Vernon.
